Where Champions
Are Made
Thirty years of Morgan horse mastery. World-level results across in-hand, park saddle, driving, and English pleasure. The highest honor in professional horsemanship. Rand Stables — York, Maine.
Thirty Years.
One Pursuit.
In 2018, the American Morgan Horse Association presented David Rand with the Richard E. Lavery Professional Horseman Award — the highest honor in professional horsemanship. It is not given lightly. It is given to the person who, across a career, has elevated the sport itself.
It started simply — a pony down the road, a horse in the backyard, and a kid with a passion for training. David spent formative years working Saddlebreds in Kentucky, then found his greatest calling in the Morgan. When he established Rand Stables at the York, Maine farm, it felt like a homecoming — the place where his most celebrated work would reach its highest expression.
The AMHA Trainer of the Decade distinction came from sustained excellence, not one hot season. The Morgan Grand National and World Championship results tied to the Rand program span every major open division — in-hand, park saddle, driving, and English pleasure.
The point of the barn is not noise. It is horsemanship, judgment, and results that stand up when you check them.
Selected World Titles
Four World Championship titles, 2019 to 2022, with Queen's Sebastian GCH — in-hand, driving, and under saddle.
